So, I was out driving last night, with Snow Patrol in my CD player, when the song "Open Your Eyes" came on. Now, as fate would have it, I was at that time planning out certain scenes of a story I'm writing, and after working out the details of one particular scene, I realised that it fitted with the song rather well. So, I was inspired to draw it =P

The scene is from an upcoming story in my Myaniscarr series, in which a war is going on. The picture shows Kira just after her husband Rhys has taken a sword to the stomach whilst saving his brother. Understandably, Kira's upset ;)

I haven't drawn realism in years, so blah at crappyness. References were used for both poses, modified slightly and clothing added (my references were nude ;) )

Wow, Gem! That's a powerful picture. Your realism really isn't that bad, either!

When I read Open Your Eyes, I thought you were talking about a song by Alter Bridge. I've never heard of Snow Patrol ... I'll have to look them up.

lol, thanks! I'm happy with how Kira turned out, but Rhys looks way too fat to me. Oh well, it was a bad angle to draw ^_<

lol, you should definately look up Snow Patrol! They have a new album out, but I've heard it's pretty ordinary. Go for their Eyes Open album ^_<
