Life Update

So I'm at home sick today, and am both bored and procrastinating. And I'm bored because I'm procrastinating. I should be writing. I have the flu, so I have a whole day off to sit and catch up on my writing ... and I'm procrastinating instead. Typical.
Home: I've upgraded my little ground floor one bedroom shoe box in Canberra to a second floor two bedroom, balcony, and lock up garage apartment that is a five minute drive away from my parents, and a fifteen minute drive from work. Yay! I love it, my books finally have their own room. I got my wish - I now have a library
Travel: So, since my last update where I was saying that I went to Malaysia and Japan, I have now also been to California last November, New Zealand last February, and then LA, Toronto, and Texas in June. Yeah, I've been getting around quite a bit, and you can read about it all here: gemsadventures.webs.com
Conventions: Sadly I haven't been able to get to any since last June
Future Plans: Still more travel. I'm planning a trip to China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand in December, which is going to be awesome! And hopefully next year I'll be getting to a few more conventions around the country, as I have quite a few frequent flyer points that I would love to use up Melbourne in April is looking quite appealing.
So yeah, that's the latest from me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to dying on my couch.
So anyway, my life has changed quite a bit since I last updated this journal. Considering that was almost a year ago, I'm not surprised. So here goes.
Work: I'm still working at Flight Centre, and it is awesome. But I have since transferred stores, out of Canberra and back to my home town. I've been back since July. Yay!

So I just realised that I have updated this journal twice in the past year. Yeah, that's just terrible. So, because I'm bored, I figured I'd update this.
Work: I'm no longer working at the first job I got that moved me to Canberra. Instead, since January, I'm working for Flight Centre. Yay! I'm loving it, even if it does stress me out a bit, and has really long hours. The perks are great.
Home: Still living in my little shoebox flat. I love it. It's full of anime and books

Conventions: I went to Brisbane Supanova last November, and Sydney Supanova last June. Both were fantastic, and at BrisNova I finally got to meet one of my fav authors, Isobelle Carmody! At SydNova I met another author Garth Nix, and the wonderful Stephanie Nadolny of Dragonball and DBZ fame. Cosplay-wise, I debuted Izaya from Durarara, as well as shaking things up with a Girl!Matt from Death Note.
Future Plans: More travel
I'm going to New Zealand for my birthday next February, and hopefully USA and Canada next June ... there might also be another trip happening this November, but so far I'm keeping it quiet 
Umm .... Canberra is still cold, and still mostly boring for me. I'm looking to move back to the Illawarra (home sweet home!) next July, so finger's crossed!
In the meantime, I think that's about it. I'll try not to leave the next update so long

New Home

So I've finally moved out of my parent's place. Huzzah! And what a move! I'm now living three hours away from home, in a nice little apartment in Queanbeyan, right next door to Canberra. Why? Because I got a job down here. Huzzah! So yeah, I've been down here for about a month, and in my apartment for about a week. Before I moved in, I was living in a caravan park. Not fun, but it served its purpose. And today I finally got my ADSL connected! Huzzah! All I need now is my bed (which the parentals are bringing up on the weekend) and I'll be all set. Until then, I'm sleeping on my sofa bed.
So yeah, big change for me, but it's nice. I'm happy, and that's all that matters

Back In The Land Of Oz

Yup, I'm back from my epic month long holiday, covering Japan, Paris, and Britain. You can read all about my adventures, check out my photos, and watch my videos at my website gemsadventures.webs.com/
So, I've been back for nearly a week now, and I still haven't stopped. I got home last Thursday, went up to Sydney on Friday afternoon for the weekend of the Sydney Supanova convention, and was then back at work on Monday. I need sleep! *is dead*
But yeah, it's good to be home!

So, I'm finally on my epic month-long holiday, spanning Japan, France, and Britain So what does this mean for DA? Well, that I won't be on here very much. So, if I'm slow to reply, or thank people for faves, or give llamas, it's because I don't know what my internet access is going to be like for the next 30 days.
